Pay or Contest St. Joseph Ticket

St. Joseph Infraction Deferral
The Infraction Deferral Program is a major St. Joseph County traffic option. The Prosecuting Attorney established it so eligible traffic defendants can maintain a point-free driving record. After successful completion, the ticket is dismissed, avoiding points and application of the ticket to the license. A person has 30 days from the ticket date to pay or schedule a court date. If deferral is the goal, do not pay the ticket first.
Ineligibility includes having a CDL, currently being in a deferral program in another county, having participated twice before, being or having been a habitual traffic violator, or being cited for certain offenses. CDL DUI and Walkerton Tickets
Commercial driver license status changes the risk analysis.
