Indiana Judicial Branch notes that many documents are online free of charge, but not all documents are online and older availability may be incomplete. Federal Courts in South Bend
Federal cases are separate from St. Joseph County Circuit Court records. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, South Bend Division, is at 204 S. Federal civil, federal criminal, civil-rights, prisoner, employment, diversity, and federal-question cases do not appear in Indiana MyCase.

Downtown South Bend visitors should plan around parking and courthouse entry rules. The county says free two-hour parking is available on most downtown streets, daily parking rates vary by location, and most downtown surface lots are private unless marked with a pay station. Unauthorized cars may be towed from private lots. The Mishawaka County Services Building has a free lot behind the building.
Security rules are strict. Superior Court FAQ material says cell phones, cameras, PDAs, electronic books, beepers, and devices capable of audio or visual recording are not permitted in St. Joseph County courthouses. Lobby lockers may be available for storage. Recording or broadcasting court proceedings requires judge approval and forms routed to the proper court administrator.
